I made a run to Joanne Fabrics and stocked up on Vogue patters that were on sale. After going through my stash, I picked a couple of pieces of fabric to start working on.
This pattern I am going to make for myself. Mom sent me some blue wide-wale corduroy at some point in the past. (What do you make with wide-wale corduroy for an adult??). Since the blue herringbone wool isn't enough to make a jacket out of, I thought I'd pair it with the corduroy, and make the jacket out of the corduroy.
I picked out this cute Michael Kors dress pattern for this piece of lightweight wool. I thought it would be cute with jacket zippers as embellishments.
Also found in my stash is a quilt top that my daughter had made for a co-worker about 10 years ago. This will be easy to finish.
I got the trestle legs at IKEA, so that stash down is moving along.
This blog is dedicated to following my Stash Reduction Program for 2012. The tons of fabric I have acquired over the years is going to be turned into clothes (finally).

The Fun Begins
Since it is January 1, the Stash-Down must begin! Today's project was a trip to Jo-Ann Fabric to load up on the Vogue patterns that were on sale today. You must admit that at $3.99, it's a far better deal than the usual $20 that those patterns can run. Armed with a list of ten I liked, I was able to snag four of them in the sizes I needed.
On another note--as I was shlepping laundry up the stairs tonight, I realized that in our move here I had brought a table top from my old sewing area. Now all I have to do is find some saw horses or supports and I can have another work surface! Whoo hoo. Let the Stash-Down begin.
